So sad to hear about Gary Speed. I can’t imagine how bad things must have been for him to feel that his family was better off without him.

I too was thinking of something along the the same theme. I never was a Leeds fan so although I knew many who were fans and season ticket holders I never saw Gary play. I recall hearing friends and colleagues talking about him and the team. A gentleman of the modern game and someone who always set an example. Very sad news.
It is so sad, when a youngster dies, for whatever reason. With Gary Speed, it is particularly sad as it looks as though he felt that that depression could not be admitted to. It is an illness and it is a shame that it carries such a stigma, which is should not in this day and age.
Stan Collymore has admitted he suffers from depression and I could have hurled the radio over the room at the person that said ‘he should pull himself together’.
