May 31, 2009 - Two picture Sunday - Plummer Tower
Plummer Tower on Croft Street.
The plaque says ‘The Plummer Tower, built in the late thirteenth century, was granted in 1742 to the Company of Masons who partly rebuilt it. The only surviving two story tower’.
The plaque says ‘Tyne and Wear County Council’. That hasn’t existed since 1986.
