October 31, 2011 - Gosforth High Street.

Some of you may remember me? I am Chris and I started Newcastle daily Photo back in February 2006. I saw an article in Amateur Photography magazine about London Daily Photo (hi Ham). It mentioned Eric and Paris Daily Photo (the very first one) as well of course. That inspired me to start the Newcastle one, which I believe was the 17th. I think its fantastic that 5 and a half years later it is still going thanks to Cassandra, and now Beth-take a bow girls.

To bring us all right up to date,I have been recently having email chats with Beth and she asked me to a do a guest week-which is now a guest fortnight! I am also hoping to pop in with other guest posts from now on (if Beth will let me?)

Enough about me, and on to today’s image. This is Gosforth. A suburb to the north of Newcastle city centre. In fact the high street-seen below-used to be the main A1 road from the south, all the way to Scotland. Now it’s a hive of activity, with shops, restaurants, churches and cafes etc. It is still the main northern route out of Newcastle and so still a very busy road.

October 30, 2011 - Shadows

I do love my shadowy shots. This is one of mine and Cassandra took this one.

And the news alluded to yesterday… Chris H, who originally started this site and who now posts at grimeandglamour.co.uk (not suitable for work/kids!!) is posting for a guest fortnight! It’s been a long time since Chris posted here (August 2007 since he was posting regularly, fact fans!) and he’s taken some amazing pictures for us. Hope you enjoy them!

I’ll still be hanging around the comments but won’t be posting pics again until 14th November. See y’all then!

October 29, 2011 - Lights

This is in Fenwicks, the corridor to the side of entrance on Northumberland Street which takes you past the florist into Yo! Sushi. Love the lights drawing you down the corridor.

Surprise coming on Monday, although those who read all the comments (or who read everything on twitter!) will have figured it out. Feel free to speculate :)

October 28, 2011 - Greggs Moment ducks

Looking the other way from pretty much the same point. Looks completely different, doesn’t it? But when you’re in there, it just works - it doesn’t even seen like there’s a divide between the two areas. Love it.

I absolutely love the pictures on the wall - a great mix.

I do think Greggs Moment is well worth a trip. Hell, even if you don’t live in Newcastle ;)
