Hi Chris! My name is Laura and I live in Newcastle. I came across your site searching for pictures of the opening ceremony of the art summit. I performed that day (dancer) an unluckily my husbands camera broke down 2 mins before it started :(. I was wondering if u had taken more pictures cause I really want something to remember this day. I will be forever thankful if u can help me with this.
Laura
Hiya Sexy,
mssed you yesterday.
big luv n stuff. x
You must be an awesome salesman if you aren’t a professional photographer. Your photographs of Newcastle are awe-inspiring. Keep up the good work!
Hi Chris
Just to say, thanks for the postcard of Newcastle which I received today as my ‘prize’ for winning the London Daily Photo competition. Sad to say, I’ve never been to Newcastle but I see I shall have to rectify that omission now I’ve looked at your site. Thanks for taking the trouble.
All good wishes
Chris, Woodford Green
Hi Chris
Thanks for the postcard / Quizprize. It was a very funny game - and your photo was great.
Byt the way - I really like the design of your site - very neat!
Keep up the good work!

Hi chris. Rote to you a while ago about the pictures taken during the opening act for the World Summit on Arts and Culture (wanted to know if there was one with me in it). Anyway, since that day i’ve been a fan of ur blog and visit it regularly although I never leave any comments. Ive been living in newcastle for 7 months and absolutely adore it; so I really enjoy all ur beatiful pictures! Also wanted to invite u to a concert tomorrow at the Bridge Hotel (after 8) where two good friends and my husband are performing.

Hi Chris,
This is Craig Hope from the Evening Chronicle. Noticed your website and I’m quite interested in doing a story about it.
Also, the mosiacs in Newcastle, could you tell me more about them?
Give me a call on 07799241998 or 0191 4784321 or email me your details to craig.hope@ncjmedia.co.uk
Thanks
Chris (Barrel),
You’ve got a talent, at least one more than me!
Nice photos shame about your football team, thankfully O’Neill is showing O’Dreary up for the truly awful manager he is/was.
Hope you’re well.

Thanks for the Praque photo’s they are exellent. Nice to see you have included my ugly mug in some of them.
My god the grey hairs are coming in
Cheers Geoff
Enjoy your site very much. One comment: I wish you’d lose the reverse type. There’s a reason magazines and ads don’t use it: It’s hard to read compared to black on white. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy your photos and comments. Just a design/legibility note.
Mark
Hi there Chris,

great works! there is a lovely, unusual building in Jesmond Dene [Mathew Bank] which is an active real [Royal] tennis court, played on every day. The building is ownderful from both the inside and the outside. Well worth a snap, and being a Geordie I bet you can talk your way inside too! If you get in, ask them if you can photo the Dedans, which is the room at the end of the court where we watch tennis matches from - its one of the nicest in the world of real tennis
James [Geordie in exile]
Hi chris,
You were my taxi driver a few days ago, i was the girl doing textiles and moving to london!(Hope you can remember)
Just thought id leave a quick note to say i love the photographs, they show a differnt and unique view of newcastle, keep snapping!
James-thanks for mentioning the real tennis court-going to see what I can do about getting inside.
Charlotte-yes I remember you. Thanks for dropping by and thanks for the compliment. (Pass the word around!)and best of luck in London)
A friend and I are going to be attending the Masters Programme in creative writing at Newcastle Uni, she in the fiction strand, and myself in the poetry. Question: Where should we stay? We’ve both spent considerable amount of time in the UK, but never on our own or for long periods at a time. We’ll be staying a year and would prefer our own flat, or perhaps another roommate or two. We’d like to not stay in dorms. Where could we begin searching for this type of housing? Any websites you recommend?
This said friend and I check your site every night at 9p, as that seems to be when you post on our time difference. We love to see all the little bits of the town that get looked over and are not deemed worthy enough to be included in the travelers brochures. Great job!
C.Ann…please email me on chris.lovesguitars@gmail.com
Hi there, I sent you an email to the above address as I don’t have a myspace acc.
Cheers, Kev

Always a pleasure to have a quick look at your site and see what is going on in my old hometown. I do wish though that you and some of your correspondents would try to spell correctly - or are you trying to outdo Blair in sucking up to the US of F.A ?
Hey mate,
Sent you a few emails but got no reply…everything ok? Drop me a line when you get a chance.

Hi,
Nice site, shame it is coming to an end.
I would like to help but I couldn’t commit to regular pictures.
Is it possible that several people could contribute to the site and it could become a collective effort?

Carl, Chris hasn’t come to this site other than on a very odd occasion in over three years. You may be able to track him down but I haven’t been able to :( If I find an active email for him I’ll point him in your direction but I doubt I’ll be able to.
I presume you’re asking about a photo he took? If it’s one of mine please email me direct - burningthepast at gmail dot com - if it’s Cassandra please click through to her blog to contact her. Thanks, Beth
