I don’t think there is much chance of them selling it as a going concern as the current owners only bought it a few months ago and obviously haven’t been able to make it pay. I feel guilty now as I have just been on Amazon buying my Christmas books, I should have gone to Borders.

  They both have Starbucks stores in (as does the one in York). That Starbucks is my favourite place to write. I won’t know what to do with myself if or when it really goes.

  And Ash I guess if the Borders closes the Starbucks will close with it :(

  I’m devastated by Borders closing, dear Beth! I took a similar photo in Borders York today and it was so sad to see the shelf almost empty and everything going. I spent almost 3 hours routing throught the books and other items left. So sad! It is a lovely store in York in the middle of clothes shops and a very terrible Debenhans. It will be terribly missed!
