This is fabulous! I remember catching the very same view on one of my last flights away from Newcastle. It was less cloudy that day, giving the Tyne a more shiny look and the bridges a sharper silhouette against the bright backdrop. Or is this just five years of memory polishing things up a bit?
Great that Cassandra! You can see how curvy the Tyne is!
Cheers, Dave
Wow, thats great! It reminds me of the painting that Sting had commisioned, by the painter Stephen Hannock of Newcastle and the River Tyne…

That is spectacular, well done. A few yards to the right and you would have got my house in.
Lovely shot Cassie. I reckon my place is in this shot, if only you could see a little more detail! :)
Daniel, the sun was barely even up and there was a great deal of foggyness at the airport. Perhaps you just had a clearer day. When the sun did come up, there were amazing shots of the countryside!
Cheers, Dave!
Alf, check the larger version on flickr, maybe you can find it there!
Beth, you too, check the larger version!
Mike, wow! Hannock’s painting is amazing! I would totally keep a painting like that, even a poster of it.
My old flat is in there somewhere… I’ve uploaded a bigger shot onto flickr if anyone desires to zoom in. The shot was cropped to fit into a post here, and it’s uncropped there.
