I know this is in church grounds but I still think 500 pound fine is a bit excessive. I think the pigeon must have left its blades at home on this day!
(no doubt Ad and Apple will have a field day with this pic? *smiles*)

about Bit Harsh? ... posted by Chris
Hi Chris! Condider it a donation to the church ;-)
Good to have you back Chris! *More smiles*. I award the caption of the day to you, and it isn’t even 6.00am yet!
Can we have the other photo tomorrow, where you pan out to show the full extent of your garden? Did you lay the floor tiles yourself? I see your flagrant disregard for such things as spirit levels is as strong as ever. That said, at least the flower arranging course that we went on in 83 wasn’t a complete waste of time. That potted treasure looks as wonderful as the day you did it. I still say that water would be better that Jack Daniels for a American Fruitcake Bush (no offence to our brothers and sisters across the water), but we are all entitled to our opinions.
Like the photo Chris, it made me smile, but more importantly, so have you. “Smile and the world smiles with you”
goodness gracious! 500 pounds?? a bit over the top, I think. are they serious?
I agree with you toataly for once Chris that is an extreme penalty to impose on children playing what happened to the grumpy old verger chasing you with a broom. As you well know I’m on my soap box at the moment about children having nowhere to play anymore, no wonder we have so many gangs hanging around the street. Give our children back their childhood!
Rant over. I hope that pigeon is about to do an about turn and do what pigeons do best and deface that sign to show what we think of it!
Thanks for the animal shot.
Heva
It’s great to sense you’re feeling happy Chris!
Another fantastic shot and proof indeed of Chris’s forensic surveillance techniques - presumably another contribution to the Old Eldon Square Surveillance Squadron (OESSS) season of photographs.
I note in the photograph the brown, rather than grey eyes of the Black Arabian Trumpeter, a pigeon known for its nimble beak, rather than the corvoid like feature exhibited on this specimen. Note also the rippled ruffle of the feathers in the upper breast, rather than smooth crest typical of this breed. I note also that, whilst the crepe of the right claw is slightly elevated, the neck of the bird remains straight, and the tail is slightly longer than that typically expected of this type.
I also observed the parched and abandoned remains of the former floral display, resemblant of chrysanthemums, marigolds, hyacinths and phlox, exhibited in an oak barrel.
I shall not insult the intelligence of readers to suggest this is a member of the OESSS or a collection of the instruments for surveillance. I suggest Chris has stumbled across a vacated surveillance post previously inhabited by Phyllis and Sadie, their decorative adornments having not been moved, presumably as they were required to evacuate the post as a matter of urgency.
I have no doubt that, had the photograph been taken in landscape format, corn plasters, hair clips, and lots of paper tissues would have been identified on the floor below.
Respect Chris!
bloody hell! £500 for skateboarding…slightly excessive me thinks! quite a deterrent though!
