These flags are in the window of the Corner House, a pub in Heaton at the corner of the Coast Road and Heaton Road/Newton Road.
Longest day today. I’m setting this post up at 22.37pm Sunday night, and it’s still not totally dark yet. Amazing.

about World Cup flags ... posted by Beth
I may have mentioned before that the Corner House is one of my favourite pubs. It was my local for about a year in the late 70s and I loved it. I am not a football fan but I hope the squad pulls itself together for the next match.
Beth, I noticed on Facebook that you are going to the Hoppings this week do enjoy yourself and it looks like it is going to be one of those rare years when it doesn’t rain on the proceedings.
Ah, one of my old favourites as well and particularly when the jazz quartet where on.
Beth - do the traditional thing and finish off Race week at the Races on Plate Day (next Saturday).
That is a race at Gosforth Park, called The Northumberland Plate - generally run about 3.45pm.
