A sight I see more and more, and will get even more common next year when when England bans smoking in pubs and clubs etc. With no apologies to the smokers among you but I find it suitable that she is stood next to a dustbin!
For those that saw Hams(London) and Eric(Paris) blog yesterday, the answer was ,here and Sydney, Australia. The Tyne bridge and the Sydney Harbour Bridge are identical designs(although Sydney HB is somewhat larger). The Newcastle version was finished 4 years before Sydney but only because ours is smaller and in fact we stole their design!
See HERE

That’s ok, I don’t think the designer was Aussie anyway, so share the love I say! And anyway, Melbourne is a far friendlier place than Sydney!
Don’t worry about the ban too much. It seemed unnatural here too when it was first imposed. But people got used to it pretty quickly. (When they ban smoking within twenty feet of any building, you can start to worry.)
Meanwhile, 5 miles to the gallon SUVs continue to spew pollution at will. Nothing wrong with that, I guess.
ps I think you might enjoy my today’s post.
Hey ,I think it happens to be a very nice dustbin!
Hell hath no fury like an x smoker!
I am even more amazed at the dedication of smokers in cold climates. I have seen footpath-smakers in Scotland in fenruary! brrrrr. Guess it proves it’s a hard addiction to kick.
