When I first arrived in Newcastle, this was the only bar in Newcastle that had outside seating and it proclaimed its status proudly, even though you could easily have choked on the car exhausts. These days, now the smoking ban has taken effect, most bars have somewhere you can drink and smoke outside.

Ruby, it’s true. They have stolen the outside so non-smokers can’t enjoy the sunshine any more :( (I’m kidding, I don’t smoke but don’t much care either way - all the moaning amused me!)
Mike, I think i’ve only been in twice ever but because I used to go past it every day when I was a student it still feels nice and familiar looking at it. Strange innit?
