The Monkseaton Metro station

That’s actually pretty! I love the wrought-iron railing and the arches. I wish our metro stations were even half as pretty.

Hilda - I love how victorian the stations are here, especially closer to the coast! The Tynemouth station dates back to 1900!

The Whitley Bay station is also rather pretty, I always enjoyed waiting for my train there.

Great pictures, Cassandra. Especially the gate & shadow from Tynemouth.
I remember being very impressed by the delicate ironwork that English train stations still feature - like a reminder from an age long gone. I found the Tynemouth station especially interesting, with only half the platform roof being carefully repainted and preserved. What goes beyond the length of a modern day metro is left to rust.
Is that still the way it is?

daniel, yeah, thats the way it still is… bit of a bummer, really. it’s sp pretty!
