August 4, 2008 - Coast Road Tour: Pedestrian Bridge

We’re going to take a trip down Coast road a bit over the next couple of days. Today is a shot of the pedestrian bridge in Jesmond Dene. If you look closely, you can see a few of the wares that are being sold on the bridge during the market!

PS, It’s all official that i’ll be leaving dear Newcastle on 18 September. :( That means that someone will need to replace me as poster on Newcastle Daily Photo. Any takers?

Sorry - I’m leaving too. Soon there’ll be no bloggers left. Cameroon is my next stop (hence the new url)

It seems like everyone is leaving! If no one continues to post, how will we look back fondly?

Where are you going?

I know where ourman is going and I have his new url.

Will you post from where you are going?

How about asking http://watchinggeordielife.blogspot.com/

I know she is a writer but she sometimes takes good pictures.

My Cousins in Canada are going to miss you too,

mrs K

Mrs K - I have to go back to the states. I’ve applied for many, many jobs but haven’t even had one interview. Without a job, I can’t stay as I can’t afford to. Today was really hard, as I had to purchase the ticket home using the last of my funds. It’s going to be a really sad month, but then again, I intend to make the most of it as best as I can. And i’ll be sure to take that boat trip!

Really sorry you have to go. How well I can relate to that awful feeling of buying a ticket home when you don’t want to go. I have loved seeing your photos though I only discovered your site recently. It is something I would love to do - post photos - but my lifestyle - never being consistently here in Newcastle would play against it. I wish you well in all you do and have no doubt life will unfold perfectly for you.

How about Mike doing it - he always posts good replies!

Have a good trip home though and make the most of your last month in this fantastic city.

Life takes funny turns and some of them that you take reluctantly turn out for the best.

Maybe this is one of them.

Memories with stay with you and when you set up a blog in the USA - post the link here.

Then we get to see more pictures and what you are doing back home.

Good Luck, Health and Best Wishes.

Sorry that your leaving Cass, we had some great photos under your reign!

Unfortunately, I’m in a fulltime busy desk bound job every day (the wonderful world of work!)… Visiting these pages is a ‘breath of fresh air’ for me.

I vote for B to be crowned next… she does a similar thing…

Good luck and God bless!

Mike.

OMG - I can’t believe I’m being nominated!

I don’t want this place to shut down, so if it comes to it I will take it on. HOWEVER - I am very busy myself, and don’t really want to do a half-arsed job, so if anyone else would like to take it on, please shout! Or if someone wants to share it? I could do alternate weeks with you Mike…?! I work full time and will soon be doing another OU course too, so you can’t be THAT much busier than me? ;o)

(My hubby says I should just say yes!)

I think you’d be great at it, B!

Don’t forget guys, Chris H. is still around, too, and might be willing to work out a deal with you guys. I’ve sent him an e-mail about resuming posting so we’ll see what he says. Maybe you could each do a week, and then a week of reposts (I haven’t done too many of them, but it’s just reposting a photograph that hasn’t been seen in awhile) or maybe B has Mon-Wed-Fri and Mike takes Tu-Thur-Sat and Sunday is a repost? Or maybe Chris would pitch in that one day? I’d be willing to stay on and post my favourite shots once a week as reposts on sundays or something. Who knows… We have a month to figure it out. No pressure or anything, guys :)

Not posting for even a day is hard because you feel like you’re letting everyone down. It seems easy, but can quickly become a burden (like when dissertations and portfolios and work stresses become, well, stressful). It’s not something that should be taken on lightly, because it’ll bring in unneeded guilt. But that being said, it’s extremely rewarding and fun to do. Getting to know all of you guys has been the best part!! I feel like I have friends in many parts of the world, and that no matter where I go, i’ll always have friends in Newcastle!

Hi Cassandra - it may be worth posting a request for daily photo contributors to the angels of the north flickr group. They can be found at http://www.flickr.com/groups/angels_of_the_north/
