April 21, 2006 - Red Cloud.

I was taking my son home to his mothers house the other night when I saw this. I nearly caused a crash as I (too) quickly pulled over to the side of the road!! What do you think it looks like?

My other blog today has a photo of a pretty FUNNY T-SHIRT which I hope none of you will find offensive!

That looks like one weather phenomonon that didn’t ought to be in Newcastle. The last time I saw anything remotely like it here, we were hit with a hurricane.

Isn’t a A380 after lunch, on a sunset crossing clouds!? :):)
It’s very beautiful view(forgetting the a380 story!).

Is that Michael Owens house underneath that turtle? knowing Newcastle’s luck it’s probably an omen

Whoa!

Very cool.

I think, and I’m taking this from www.wildwildweather.com, that:

“Since the tornado is forming in the updraft, there may be a low cloud slowly rotating in the Rain Free Base of the storm. This low cloud is called a Wall Cloud and is the parent cloud to a tornado.”

It goes on to say that hail or rain may follow and when you see this kind of cloud-run. Fast.

Do I win? Do I win? What do I win?

There’s no question about it - its an upside down turtle. It is astonishing how it morphs as you watch it - thanks for posting!

Was it moving in your direction ;) Quite thick also. Seens to have a mouth on the right side. Really strange form! Great shot.

it’s very cool, but it’s perfectly clear what it is…it’s a giant carp. fantastic photo and well-worth almost causing a crash for!

clouds do strange things and have unique properties to reflect and refract sunshine — I’d assume the sun was hidden somewhere behind it all — super photo
