This is the terraced pavilion in Heaton Park, about two minutes walk from yesterday’s shoe tree.

Hi. I just want to say that I love this photo blog. I used to live in Newcastle from 2005-2006, so I check this blog every day to bring back good memories. I actually found it one day when I wanted to see what this years fenwick christmas window looked like, so I googled it, and found this fantastic blog instead. Thank you!

Hello, Just wanted to say that I love the blog - I still live in Newcastle - although I’ve only lived here since ‘81 I still consider myself a Geordie - but I love discovering new places around the city that I haven’t seen before. Keep it up and I’m looking forward to some great shots of the Chinese New Year next Sunday.

Mike, since you seem to be wizard of all things to know about Newcastle: any idea where I can get a copy of that song they played on repeat outside? I heard from the local news when they covered the opening of the windows that it was recorded by local schoolchildren, but no one i’ve talked to seems to know who… please and thanks!

Hi Cass, after a bit of snooping around, I found out it was the Gateshead Children’s Arts and Theatre School (C.A.T.S) and the song is called “Sing it loud”. I don’t think it’s available, as it was specifically for the Fenwicks Window. You could send a speculative email or call them?
