The yearly, ORANGE EVOLUTION FESTIVAL takes place over 12 days at various venues around the city, culminating in the free day at Newcastle quayside. You can just see the side of the main stage on the left and the smaller stage at the mid-right point, next to Spillers dog food factory. It was a great day (you can see it was packed) and although it was cold at least it didn’t rain. I shall post more photo’s on here and my other blog later in the week.

The Spillers Building was never use to make dog food - but for storing grain. Revision of the local history of your beloved Ouseburn may be in order.

I didnt even know it was called the Spillers building until recently!!
It used to hold 34,000 tons of grain and is still in use today…producing animal feed-apparently!
