<p>The chapel is in Jesmond Dene and was built in the twelfth century. It&#8217;s in ruins now, mostly, but there are people who go there and care for it still.  Some even worship in its grounds.</p>
<p>Tyne and Wear County Council, who put up this sign, was abolished in 1986, just three years after putting up this sign.
