I wanted to have an FAQ. But no one asks any questions, so I thought I’d answer the questions I wish we were asked. If there’s anything you’d like added to the list, please shout!

Where’s Newcastle?
It’s in the north east of England. Near the seaside, near the countryside. Plenty of decent sports. Plenty of decent arts. Incredibly friendly people. Great rail connections, if you want to come visit. Can you tell I love the place?

And what on earth are these ‘green twiddly bits’ I keep hearing you all talk about?
Heh. Dave, a regular commenter on the site, saw this picture and commented that he loved the ‘twiddly green bits’ on the top of the building. Next thing I knew, it’s become a thing. See also this post and this one.

Love the pics. Can I use one?Thanks! But that’s a slightly complicated question. This site contains photos by three different contributors as well as various guest contributors. Take a look at the post in question. If the photo was by Cassandra, email her at camarshallwrites gmail com and ask her for her permission. If the photo was by Beth, email her at burningthepast gmail com and ask for permission. If you email one of us, be sure to say what you would like to use the picture for, and whether it’s commercial, research, a school project… whatever.

If, on the other hand, the photo was by Chris H… well, he kind of disappeared. If you can find him to ask for permission, feel free. Otherwise, that’s a big fat no.

If the photo was contributed by a guest, sorry, but we can’t contact them to ask for permission. You can always try commenting on the post in question to see if the person whose photo it is sees and responds to you, but that’s about all we can suggest.

Don’t steal. It’s not nice, and sooner or later we’ll catch you.
