Did you guess correctly? This coat of arms is hidden under signs on Northumberland Street, on the entrance to what is now an amusement arcade. Isn’t it a shame that it’s so well hidden?

Well done, Beth, whether intentionally or not you managed to confuse a lot of local people. After I tried to post my original and completely wrong guess I asked the people on Skyscrapercity for their opinions and nobody had a clue until the last minute. Just before you announced the answer one man came up with the right building but more by process of elimination than by knowledge. Now I have sparked off a debate on what was the building before it became an amusement arcade and what on earth does the coat of arms mean? If I get any answers I will let you know.
The link Alf is talking about starts here and goes on for a couple of pages.
I’ll be really glad if the people over there can find out some more info on this building! :)
edited to add that i’ll take a better shot of the motto soon.
Never new about this! Well done, Beth.
