St James’ Park, taken from Leazes Park Road looking up Terrace Place.
I promised to do this a while ago - sorry for the delay Chris. Chris, who posts here as CGP, has started an excellent new blog of Newcastle. It compares old pictures of Newcastle with what is there now. I think it’s a really exciting project and really complements what Cassandra and I do on this site.
The blog is here and is called Oldcastle Newcastle. Please do pop by and see what you think.

…the East Stand I do believe. Wil take a look at Chris’ blog.
There are some lovely houses around that area but it must be a nightmare on match days.
I have looked at Oldcastle Newcastle and it is an excellent idea. I have bookmarked it for future reference.
Thanks for the kind words :)
I’ve just put the latest post up if you want to take a look.
I love Oldcastle Newcastle! Thanks for the link
Leazes Terrace (turn right at the end of this road), now permanently in the shadow of the East Stand, is a architecturally beautiful example of Newcastle’s golden age, but inside a very institutional hall of residence.
The Oldcastle Newcastle blog link is great-it’s been added to my favorites. *thanks*
Oldcastle blog is fantastic Chris - looking forward to seeing more. Thanks for the link Beth
I’m glad you all like Oldcastle Newcastle! I think it’s great.
you’re right alf, it would be very busy round match days but great if you’d be there with everyone else i guess :)
danny - i don’t think i’ve ever been up there. will have to investigate.
