A few of you have been asking for photos of where I am now so here you go. This week will be all about comparing and contrasting Newcastle and Michigan.
The first shot is the Tyne Bridge in Newcastle taken when the Tuxedo Princess was still docked under it. I think it’s a repost, but i’m not sure.

The second is a shot of the Blue Water Bridge that crosses into Canada.

Great and I don’t mind reposts - mainly because I came to the site late on. Anway I can look at water and bridges forever.
Do you get to keep some of the corn - is it corn on the cob or corn for flour?
I love the first when its fresh, the second, well I just got a breadmaker given to me and am having a whale of a time re-discovering the joys of eating bread fresh.
I am enjoying the contrast. Beth hope you are getting better. And thanks Cassandra for stepping in - you two must be friends for life. Cherish it.
I’m with you, water and bridges forever! It almost hurts to have to live so far away from a source of water. My computer wallpaper is of water!
It’s mostly corn for animal feed. It’s not very tasty. The corn is grown on our land but it’s rented out to farmers so it’s not generally a good idea to take another farmers’ crop.
There are, however, a good number of people who grow their own sweetcorn around here and you can come by a whole lot of it for really low prices. Most are organically grown, too!
B really is amazing! She’s stepped up to keep NDP alive (there’s no way I could have kept it up and interesting without being able to take new photographs!) and she’s doing a fantastic job! I feel privileged to be able to post on Wednesdays to give her a break once a week and am more than happy to step in when she needs me to. It really is a lot more work than it seems to be and I can’t imagine keeping it up as well as B does with her work and family schedules.
I am relatively new to the site too so I agree, any re-post are brand new to us and the “contast week” is very insightful! Thanks for sharing about your family life in Michigan and explaining about your life as a student in Newcastle…sounds like you will be friends for life as Mrs.K has stated. I truly understand your website is a ton of work, as I am currently learning to develop and publish a website for our business…what a lot to learn… but so important today. A big thanks to you both for really great shots and keeping it fresh and interesting daily. Don’t wear yourselves out!
What a great, clever idea! England and Michigan! That got me thinking, hmmmmm
still tired mrs k but definitely feeling better now. thank you.
*blushes* at cassandra! thanks :) i’m looking forward to posting again - and my bestest camera is on its way back to me - yay! i can’t wait :)
