about Lectern, All Saints Church ... posted by Beth
Thank you for your pictures of All Saints Church, I have enjoyed seeing them. What a lovely building, I am so glad it is being used as a Church again. I wrote when you previously posted a picture of the exterior. My father was christened and his parents married at St. Mark’s Church on Shields Road in Byker; his grandparents were married at St. Michael’s Church in Byker. I have read that they are no longer in use as Churches. Do you know if this is true? If possible I would enjoy seeing a picture of them one day.

Hi Catherine and thanks! I’m glad it’s in use again too.
St Mark’s Church now seems to be a climbing wall and venue for children’s parties :( I’ll see if I can find out anything more next time I’m down that way. St Michael’s church seems to have been redeveloped in the mid 1960s and refurbished recently - and I so wish I’d found out earlier about this! Did anyone see it? Again, if I can find out anything more next time I’m in Byker I’ll report back. Thanks again for dropping in :)
I love this little church on the banks of the Swan River. It has everything, history, architecture and beautiful surroundings. This is the highest point on the Swan River that Captain Stirling reached when surveying for the original colony. When visiting the wineries, breweries or restaurants in the Swan Valley make the time to have look at a genuine piece..
Gadgets - I think you might be mixing this place up with somewhere else? This is Newcastle Upon Tyne, near the banks of the Tyne river.
