Newcastle’s main police station on Market Street. It’s a pretty imposing building, isn’t it?
This isn’t the headquarters of Northumbria Police though; I believe that’s out in Ponteland (which is in Northumberland).

Hi Beth, it is an imposing one isn’t it? I see from your shot that it dates from the 1930s - think I can just make it out.
Wonder what they’re going to do with the abandoned Fire Station, also shown here?
D
I did hear rumours that the fire station was to converted in to a boutique hotel, whatever that is. The police station is a fine building but one I hope never to see the interior of. I have been lucky so far.
I spent ages trying to figure out those roman numerals when I took this pic. And now it seems so obvious! Duh.
We’ve been in the police station once Alf. The darling husband got caught speeding on the A1 so he had to take in his driving licence. Not an experience I want to repeat, and he has learned his lesson!
Yeah Alf I’ve managed to avoid the inside too! Boutique hotel eh?!
It really looks like a fortress.
