I had an appointment in Wallsend last week. I found a little place called The Green which I’d never discovered before. This road looked like it belonged in a tiny country village, not the middle of Wallsend, a not-terribly-exciting town in North Tyneside.
A few more pics on flickr.

I caught a train at 7.30am on Saturday morning. This was the scene that greeted my husband as he left the car park after dropping me off.
I love this photo. The railway lines. The castle keep off to the left. The way the Tyne Bridge seems to fit under the railway bridge. The perfect colour of the sky. It was worth getting up for.
There are more early-morning Saturday train journey photos (and Sunday afternoon return photos) on flickr.

If you visit the Quaker meeting house when it’s open to the public, and if you go into the garden at the back, you can see this sign. It’s from 1698 when the Quaker meeting house on Pilgrim Street first opened.
The Quakers (or Friends, as they are known) moved to their current building on Archbold Terrace in 1961 but they took the sign with them. I don’t blame them. I would have taken it too.

On the corner of Grosvenor Road and Osborne Road, there is a sign for pedestrians. Turn left and you’ll go down Acorn Road towards Tesco and West Jesmond metro; turn right and you’ll go towards Jesmond Dene, a park in a steep valley where I’ll be going soon to take some pictures.
Friday evening was lovely.
