The local paper reported that over 40,000 people are estimated to have been at the free event. So these guys(and girls) who were giving away free cider had a very busy day.Needless to say there were a few people who maybe had too much!!

The yearly, ORANGE EVOLUTION FESTIVAL takes place over 12 days at various venues around the city,culminating in the free day at Newcastle quayside. You can just see the side of the main stage on the left and the smaller stage at the mid-right point,next to Spillers dog food factory. It was a great day (you can see it was packed) and although it was cold at least it didn’t rain. I shall post more photo’s on here and my other blog later in the week.

Brian Johnson is the lead singer of AC/DC.
Mark Knopfler was the leader of Dire Straits.
Hank Marvin and Bruce Welsh were both in the Shadows with Cliff Richard!
Dave Stewert was with Annie Lennox as the Eurythmics(But he is from sunderland,
so dosn’t count!)
Neil Tennant is in the Pet Shop Boys.Of course I guess you all knew Sting(Huge solo star
and was good when he was the singer with the Police)
Finally my favorite..How many of you(I guess only in the UK) knew that PJ and Duncan
turned into jovial jolly Geordie Tv presenters, Ant and Dec???

This weekend the Newcastle area has three music festivals on.Some big names are playing but I will be going to the free one on the quayside on Monday(its a holiday here).There are some lesser names playing but more to my taste.To celebrate the music names that have come from Newcastle and area see how many names you know on this book.Every single one of you should know at least one name on here if not more!
