This was taken at Newcastles’ home game against Wigan yesterday. Losing the match 1-0, Newcastle were awarded a penalty. Our captain and living legend Alan Shearer steps up to take the penalty…..did he score? Go here TO FIND OUT. ( look how confident the guy in the bottom right hand corner is!)

The Sage is definately one of my favorite buildings in the whole area.Ive heard it called the ‘Slug’,or even the ‘Rollercoaster’ among many other names. I call it the ‘Armadillo’. Whatever you want to call it,I think its beautiful. (left click and press F11 for a better view) An INSIDE VIEW here.

On my post from Wednesday ‘anonymous’ mentioned in the comments that “Dog Leap Stairs” was were Bessy Surtees escaped with her lover in 1772. This magnificent building was where she eloped from. There is a GREAT PLAQUE on the wall,giving brief details. Go here for more information on BESSY SURTEES.
